02 — The statement that governs everything else
Previous military, security or government service does not confer current government authority, law-enforcement powers or intelligence-service status.
A person who has served in an armed force, an intelligence organisation or a police service, and who has left that service, is a private individual. They carry the experience of that service. They do not carry its powers, its legal protections, its access or its mandate, and no private organisation can restore any of those things by employing them.
This applies to every individual we engage, in every jurisdiction, without exception. It is stated here because it is the single most misrepresented point in the private security sector, and because a client who misunderstands it may rely on capabilities that do not exist.
All services remain subject to applicable laws, licensing requirements, contractual conditions and jurisdictional restrictions.
Descriptions of capability elsewhere on this website are descriptions of what we do. They are not offers of service in any particular territory, and they do not indicate that a given service is lawful or available in a given place. That is settled only by assessment.
03 Compliance Domains Twelve obligations
Each is stated as a commitment rather than an aspiration. Where a client, candidate or partner believes we have departed from one of them, we would rather be told.

Proportionate verification of identity, employment history and referenced experience for every individual engaged, conducted lawfully and with the individual's knowledge and consent. Where applicable law permits and the role warrants it, criminal-record checking is included. Verification is completed before engagement, not after deployment.

Current, valid and relevant qualifications, verified at source where possible. A qualification that has lapsed is treated as absent. We do not accept self-declared credentials as evidence, and we do not describe experience as a qualification.

Where a jurisdiction licenses security activity, we operate within that regime or we do not operate. If a licence is required and cannot be obtained, the activity is not performed — not performed by a differently described person, and not performed under a different label.

Insurance appropriate to the activity and the territory, confirmed as valid for the actual work before it begins. Cover that excludes the activity in question provides a client with nothing, and identifying that gap is part of the assessment rather than a matter for after an incident.

Compliance with the law of the place where the work is carried out, including laws on protective activity, use of force, equipment, data protection, employment and immigration. Ignorance of a local requirement is a failure of preparation, and the obligation to establish it rests with us.

Written contracts defining scope, responsibilities, reporting, permitted conduct, liability, data handling, duration and termination. Work outside an agreed scope is not performed until the scope is varied in writing. This protects the client at least as much as it protects us.

Client information handled on a need-to-know basis under written confidentiality undertakings binding on everyone engaged. Client identities are not used as references or marketing material without express written permission, and in most cases not even then.

Personal data collected only where necessary for a defined purpose, held securely, shared only as required for the engagement, and retained no longer than necessary. Assessments are sensitive documents and their distribution is agreed in advance and controlled.

Respect for the rights and dignity of every person encountered in the course of an engagement — clients, staff, members of the public and those whose conduct has caused concern. We do not accept work whose purpose or foreseeable effect is intimidation, harassment, suppression or the infringement of anyone's lawful rights.

No facilitation payments, no bribery, no improper inducement to obtain a licence, a permission, an introduction or a commercial advantage. Where a local practice would require such a payment, the engagement does not proceed on that basis.

Courtesy, restraint and proportionality as the working standard. Force is a last resort, used only where lawful and proportionate, and followed by reporting, cooperation with authorities and a written record. Conduct is assessed on the same standard whether or not anyone is watching.

Each jurisdiction assessed on its own terms before any commitment is made. We do not assume that an arrangement lawful in one country is lawful in the next, and we do not present a capability as international merely because a client's requirement is. International approach

Security providers are frequently judged on what their websites assert. We think a client learns more from what a provider is prepared to say it does not have.

Where any such claim is later established and independently verified, it will be stated on this website accurately and in terms that can be checked. Until then, its absence is deliberate.
